Who can make appointments?

Himself:

  • at the health unit where you are registered

  • at an SNS 24 Counter (available at the participating entities, according to the opening hours of each counter)

A family member:

  • at the health unit where the family member is enrolled
  • via personal area of the SNS 24 portal
  • via SNS 24 – 808242424, choosing option 5
  • at an SNS 24 Counter (available at the participating entities, according to the opening hours of each counter)

A friend:

  • via SNS 24 – 808242424, choosing option 5
  • at the health facility where the person is enrolled

When can I make appointments?

Consultations and teleconsultations can be scheduled at any time on the online platforms, or within the opening hours of the Health Units and SNS 24 Desk. These appointments are dependent on existing vacancies.

  • internet, after registering in the personal area of the SNS 24 portal, access the section 'I need... ' , select the 'Appointments for me' item, and then select the 'Booking appointments' tab
  • health units, in person or by phone
  • telephone, through SNS 24 – 808242424, choosing option 5
  • at an SNS 24 Counter (available at the participating entities, according to the opening hours of each counter)

What documents and requirements do I need?

In the case of online booking, prior registration is required at personal area of the SNS 24 portal.

To schedule appointments through SNS 24 – 808242424, or in person, the document certifying registration at the health unit or the Citizen Card is required.

To book an appointment at the SNS 24 Desk, you can opt for easy access or mediated access. To book through the facilitated access, the user must:

What is the deadline?

The online appointment booking only provides the schedules from the 5th working day (inclusive), counting from the date on which the user is using the platform to make the appointment.

What is the cost of an appointment appointment?

There is no cost to book an appointment or teleconsultation.

How much does the consultation cost?

With the publication of the Decree Law No. 96/2020, of 4 November, consultations and all complementary diagnostic and therapeutic exams, prescribed within the scope of the primary health care network, are not subject to the payment of user fees since 1 January 2021.

What are the types of appointments available for booking?

The consultations available in primary health care are:

The scheduling of consultations or teleconsultations at the initiative of the user exists for reasons not related to acute illness, that is, that do not require immediate care.

What is a teleconsultation?

Teleconsultation is a consultation in which the health professional, at a distance and using information and communication technologies, assesses the patient's clinical situation and plans the provision of health care. There are real-time and deferred teleconsultations.

Can teleconsultations also be scheduled by the same means?

Teleconsultations can be scheduled through:

The scheduling of the teleconsultation must follow the same circuit as the scheduling of the appointments.

What is an adult health consultation?

The adult health consultation is a medical consultation, carried out within the scope of primary health care, which continuously deals with the health problems of individuals and families, in the context of the community.

What is a family planning consultation?

The family planning consultation aims to ensure access to information, effective and safe methods of contraception and health services that contribute to the practice of safe and healthy sexuality. Only the first appointment of this type can be scheduled online or by phone, and the rest are scheduled in person.

In the family planning consultation you have access to:

  • appropriate referral to the consultation to be carried out in a timely manner, depending on the degree of urgency
  • free contraception
  • Immediate service in situations

What is a maternal health consultation?

The maternal health consultation aims to ensure the monitoring and provision of all care and complementary means of diagnosis during pregnancy. Only the first appointment of this type can be scheduled online or by phone, and the rest are scheduled in person.

In the consultation, information is provided on safe and appropriate food care during pregnancy, preparation for breastfeeding, physical activity, oral health and sexuality during pregnancy, discomfort and warning signs and road safety. In addition, regular clinical and laboratory examinations are carried out to assess the health status of the mother and baby throughout pregnancy.

What is a Child Health Consultation?

The child health consultation is a follow-up consultation of the child's development. Only the first appointment of this type can be scheduled online or by phone, and the rest are scheduled in person.

The consultation provides clarifications on physical and psychosocial growth and development, compliance with the vaccination schedule (according to the National Vaccination Program), occupation of free time, eating habits and practice of sports and/or cultural activities.

What is a resource/reinforcement query?

A resource/booster consultation is valid for any patient without an assigned family doctor.
