What does cancer surgery consist of?
Surgery is, for many types of cancer, the initial treatment and involves the removal (total or partial) of the tumour. Through surgery, it is also possible to confirm the diagnosis, determine how far the cancer has advanced and relieve some symptoms that the person may be feeling, such as intestinal obstruction.
What are the risks of surgery?
cancer surgery, like any other surgery, always involves some risks that depend, mainly, on the place where the intervention is performed and the person's state of health. It can cause some pain and discomfort, however, currently, there are effective means and medications to relieve these symptoms.
